Government spending is out of control and needs to be slashed. Tax reductions are needed to increase personal income. This will increase consumer demand and help grow the economy. It will also give people more of their own money to better provide for their own needs. That will let us reduce or eliminate expensive and ineffective government wealth re-distribution programs.
Court appointees need to have a record of following the Constitution and not have a political agenda.
We must put American jobs first by using all of our available resources including natural gas, clean coal, oil and nuclear in a responsible and safe manner. Alternative and renewable sources need to be encouraged but we must realize that those technologies cannot meet our current needs. No to Cap and Trade.
The government cannot create jobs - it can only foster a pro-business environment that allows businesses to create jobs. We need to reduce employer mandates and drop business-killing legislation like Cap and Trade. We also need to bring our corporate rates down to the world average of 20%. Our corporate tax rates are the second highest in the world, which drives our companies to invest overseas and export our jobs.
We need to secure the borders and enforce our existing laws. No citizenship rewards for those that broke our laws.
We cannot erode this basic right guaranteed by our constitution. If we do so then any and all rights are at risk.
Give our military clear goals and objectives; give them the personnel, equipment and funding they need to get the job done; then get out of the way and let them do their job.
The reform bill that was forced through Congress will cost trillions of dollars and replace personal choice with government intervention. We need to repeal the current legislation and start over.
The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution says it all: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
Put parents back in charge. Create accountability by mandating school choice and supporting charter schools. Initiate quality improvement programs as we do in medicine and industry. Enlarge Teach For America and merit pay.
